Downtown Design, 4 intense days of design in the heart of Dubai

Downtown Design is a fair held as part of the big Dubai Design Week festival. This key event, which runs from Tuesday 13 to Friday 16 November this year, is considered a great springboard for designers from around the world and especially for Middle Eastern designers.

No less than 175 design brands are announced, including 40 regional. A great opportunity for young designers to become known and noticed, and a way for designers already well established to present their new collections and their future projects.

The main words of the fair: discover, meet, exchange

The Downtown Design experience, redesigned annually by an award-winning architect whose mission is to develop a master plan for the venue, is absolutely unique: located on the waterfront overlooking Dubai Creek, six large-scale installations, landscaped indoor gardens, bespoke café concepts and pop-up retail create an atmosphere conducive to discoveries and exchanges between enthusiasts.

In addition to freely navigating between these different locations and exploring the talents of the designers present, visitors also have the opportunity to order them limited edition or custom creations.

Diverse, rich and well-organized talks

In parallel with this exhibition part, talks and workshops take place at the Forum. And for this 6th edition, 25 major names in design appear in the program of talks, including Marc Ange, Int Archibong, Matthew McCormick and Martyn Lawrence Bullard.

In addition to addressing specific themes such as the culture of collaboration, the trend colors of 2020, the place of women in design, or the use of social networks to gain visibility, speakers will be invited to give their opinion on the diversity, sustainability and planning of the cities of the future (main theme for this edition).
