We talked about it in a previous article, the highly expected Design Miami trade show will take place this week, from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th December.
An essential appointment in the field of high-end design!
On this occasion, we invite you to learn more about Ambra Medda, co-founder of Design Miami, to better understand the state of mind and the origins of this legendary salon, before discovering our selection of designers who will exhibit their know-how.
AMBRA MEDDA, QUEEN OF MIAMI DESIGN AND INTERNATIONAL INFLUENCER
"Engage deeply or stay at home" is the motto of Ambra Medda, co-founder of Design Miami.
Born in Rhodes, Greece, the designista grew up between Milan and London at the fast pace of her mother and gallery owner Giuliana Medda. It is therefore at an early age that Ambra sets foot in contemporary art and design. She then studied Asian art at the University of London.
A few years later and thanks to a perfect knowledge of the market and its trends, she feels that design-art will soon be booming. She then co-founded with Craig Robins, renowned property developer, the Design Miami and will also import the concept to Art Basel in Switzerland.
At age 20, Ambra Medda already has a full address book that allows her to convince without any difficulty specialized galleries to participate in this show. The success is dazzling.
After 6 years at the show management, she moved to New York to launch L'Arco Baleno, a digital gallery specializing in vintage design, including Pharrell Williams, Patrick Li and Tom Dixon. In 2013 she took the turn of the web by launching L'Arco Baleno online.
Today, Ambra Medda exercises her talent from the London capital by offering consulting services for different brands and designers.

GREGOR JENKIN, THE CREATION OF FURNITURE UNDER AN ENGINEERING APPROACH
The vision of the furniture and lighting studio Gregor Jnekin is: to respond tangibly to a problem of production, space or practicality, without being interested in art or design, because the art-design is a natural consequence of the physical act of creation. The studio team's ambition is to create functional, thoughtful and innovative objects.
