After Paris for Maison & Objet, Stockholm becomes the capital of design for 5 days!
From February 4th Monday to February 10th Sunday, the Stockholm Design Week will bring art and design enthusiasts to Scandinavian's largest congress and exhibition center.
Since 2002, each year is organized a week that presents more than 200 high-end design events in different places of the city, including:
The Stockholm Furniture Fair (February 4-9): a space dedicated to furnishing
The Northern Light Fair (February 4-9): a space dedicated to lighting
Today, the show attracts more than 40,000 visitors from over 60 different countries. The main exhibitors are Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norwegian.
A major meeting point for buyers, architects, designers, journalists and architectural and interior design influencers from around the world.
STOCKHOLM FURNITURE & LIGHT FAIR, A SPACE OF INFORMATION AND INSPIRATION
Come discover the latest design innovations for homes and public spaces! New products, materials, trends, contacts, environmental and technological solutions will be presented. The first days are reserved for professionals, while Saturday is open to public.
Highlights of the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair (the Stockholm Furniture Fair and the Northern Light Fair) include the Greenhouse section and Design & Architecture talks.
This is the space for students of design schools and emerging designers. They present their prototypes and projects, including furniture, lighting, textiles, carpets or decorative accessories.
It is a professional and competent jury that selects the designers who have applied to exhibit at Greenhouse. The designers present are therefore handpicked. Oki Sato de Nendo, GamFratesi, Form Us With Love et Morten & Jonas... big names in interior design have seen their careers take off thanks to Greenhouse.
DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE TALKS
Forum of knowledge and discussions, the talks established during the show are particularly appreciated. They make it possible to launch debates around the relevant issues of the sector.
For this 2019 edition, the program includes no less than 100 speakers and 40 topics addressed with a theme on "visionary thinking". Among the keynote speakers this year, we will be pleased to welcome Alice Rawsthorn, design critic and journalist, Hoel Sanders, renowned architect, and Tom Dixon, international designer.
Here are some of the lectures that will be held:
The future of public spaces
Challenges and opportunities in tomorrow's design world
Industrial and educational perspectives of design
Get ready, Sweden has great surprises for you!
